Any ideas how to control food texture cravings?

Okay, so lately, I've been having a rather tricky relationship with food, and I feel that I would prefer to bring an arrest to my recent minor binging. Usually, the reason I over-eat is mainly because I'm bored; though that can be controlled, and that's really not the primary problem. Figures I'm the weird-o who gets cravings over types of food textures, rather than taste. Most of those cravings are for bread and grain products. Does it really matter about what type of cravings one has, to use techniques designed to regulate them? On another note, what would those techniques be anyway? Thank you for your response.
