Getting into a Rated R Movie with permission?

Okay so, I used fandango to print out a ticket for Saw 3D(Me) and Social Network(Mom). Since I am Fifteen, and wasn't allowed to go see it, I was turned down. Why does a parent or guardian need to see it with you, even though they are right their with you giving you permission to see it?
